'Hi! My name is Danielle, I'm the Designer and Founder behind Sanct. '

I founded Sanct with the intention of creating clothing that is ethically made and fits a wide range of shapes and sizes.

My background is as a maker. I've always made my own clothes since I started sewing when I was 11 years old. So developing Sanct started with a lot of sewing. I wanted to create a new benchmark for sustainable fashion in Australia. One with radical transparency and size inclusivity as non-negotiable.

Size Inclusivity

My passion for size inclusivity manifested when I started to unpack what ethical fashion meant to me. I felt that I couldn’t truly call Sanct ethical if it only catered to sizes 8-18.

I immersed myself in a lot of online content around size inclusivity in fashion in the early days of building Sanct and found that offering a custom sizing service in addition to my core size range would be vital.

One of the biggest joys I have had with Sanct since 2019 is being able to tailor a garment for someone who has spent their life falling outside of the common sizing offered by Australian fashion.

My fit sessions are currently complimentary and can take place over zoom, as a house call, or at one of the many markets I attend throughout the year.

You can now shop size ‘C’ on most Sanct garments (while fabric lasts).

Make and Materials

My values for creating have always involved both people and the environment.

Sanct is 100% plastic free, meaning even the sewing threads and brand tags I use are made from 100% natural fibres, never synthetics.

Sanct will always be Australian Made.

We are accredited with Ethical Clothing Australia, which audits my studio and any outworkers I use to make Sanct. Read more about the ECA accreditation.

Transparency

I wanted to show my customers what goes into making a garment apart from the base cloth.

Sustainable claims can be vague, so at Sanct, each product page contains a comprehensive list of components and where they are sourced from. Providing you with this transparency means you can make an informed decision on whether the garment fits your values.

I hope you love my Sanct as much as I do.
